The bathroom had lingering odors and seemed like it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned. The room I got was horribly small, and the a/c and heater was not working properly. The location was great because it was walking distance from several subway stations, but there was construction across the street, which was a bit of an annoyance (more traffic, and loud construction noises). The staff i spoke with when I checked in was pleasant, but during my third day, I overheard a staff raising her voice (she probably didn't do in consciously, but she needs a refresher in customer service training) at a foreigner guest at the hotel. Also, the chilled distilled water and the bottles on each floor were a nice touch and was very convenient. It almost made up for all the negatives in the room and the tiny size. The restaurant on site (elephant and castle) had okay food, but was pricey.

I would recommend this hotel to friends. We got a decent price for downtown Chicago. It's in a good location and the room was clean. The only problem was that it is very, very small. Since we only stayed one night that wasn't too much of an issue. Would likely stay there again, if necessary.

I loved it. Very compact room. I simply needed a clean comfortable place to sleep before a triathlon and it filled the bill perfectly. I will say don't check out after the check out time. Hit me with a * dollar penalty. Ouch. Restaurant was nice too.

We found the location to the hotel perfect! Right in the middle and within walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Chicago. Loved the complimentary purified water with bottles on each floor. Also loved the closet full of extra amenities conveniently located if we needed extra towels linins etc. I felt safe with the security system. Restaraunt was average to good, and nice to have in hotel. I found the staff friendly, but did not go out of their way to help out. It's alway great when the front desk makes sure you have everything you need, or asks if they can help with directions or favorite attraction information for visitors. To be perfectly honest, the front desk girls felt like they were more into something else than going out of their way to help or offer up a map or make any kind of connection. I found this a bit unusual as I travel a great deal and most hotels have a great concierge system and person. I would offer up to this hotel that this area definately needs improvement. I would stay there again because of the location & price.
