I knew this hotel was out of the way, but there's a shuttle to and from Union Station, and it's right next to the Arboretum, which is beautiful. HOWEVER the nearest metro (subway) is over a mile away and NOTHING else that you want to see is in walking distance. You need to take cabs or drive your own car. The Hotel does provide parking space, but driving to the Smithsonian and the museums and memorials from the hotel in your own car is also not practical, as there is no place to park for a reasonable fee near the sights you want to see. Also, my room smelled moldy and like urine, and it turned out to be the towels that were put away wet in my room. When I went to shower the next morning, the towels were wet. I don't know if they were washed and not dried properly , or wet towels from the previous inhabitants of the room were not cleaned, but just folded up and put back on the shelves. Even the sheets were not crisp and clean-feeling. In either case... AND, whoever heard of a hotel where you cannot buy a newspaper (nevermind get one free)?? There was not a magazine or newspaper to be found in the entire hotel, not even a Washington DC tourist mag in the rooms. The staff here didn't seem to care and even seemed annoyed when you asked questions.

I was a little worried when I booked this hotel because I knew it was not right in the center part of the city and that we would have to take the hotel shuttle to Union Station each day in order to see DC, but it turned out just fine! The key is to sign up for shuttle times for every day that you are there immediately upon checking in to the hotel. Sign ups are for going into the city only. Pick ups later in the day are timed. Also, there are no shuttle runs between about noon and 5 pm each day. The rooms are beautiful suites that are very clean and comfortable and the price was unbeatable for the DC area. My husband and I would definitely stay there again. The only travelers I would not recommend use this hotel are ones who may need to return to their hotel rooms during the day to rest. The shuttle won't work for that.

The staff was more than willing to help with any questions, needs, etc. They were always very polite and upbeat. The hotel provided shuttle service to and from Union Station every half hour. It was extremely hot during our stay. The shuttle drivers provided water in an effort to avoid dehydration. Not only was there a continental breakfast, but dinner was provided from a local Italian restaurant Monday-Thursday. The room was clean and neat. The shuttle rides, water, breakfasts, and dinners provided cut down on the costs for the rest of the trip making it an excellent value for the money.

Drove thru a rough looking neighborhood to get there, and was gonna leave...The manager assured us it was safe and we'd be please with our stay. The room was newly furnished and well equiped. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and well stocked. The shuttle service was always on time and provided us with water after a long day of walking around DC. 5 stars in opinion!!!

The hotel was great. Pefect location and the complimentary shuttle to Union Station was excellent. Even better was the complimentary breakfast AND supper!! Staff was so friendly and room was in excellent shape and kept clean every time we walked out the door. We had a great vacation and have recommended this hotel to others. Thanks so much!!
