Whenever we stay in Downtown Omaha our first choice is ALWAYS Homewood Suites; It's always clean, the staff is always friendly, helpful & accomodating. In our opinion it's the next best place to being at home. Athough there is a bit of a language barrier with the housekeeping staff, they are still very friendly and accomodationg. The hot breakfast is really a huge plus, because you don't have to leave the hotel to go get something to eat early in the morning. The surroundings are SO comfortable you just don't want to leave. The fitness facility is kinda small and we didn't have a use for the business center, so didn't give a rating on the business center. I love that they have a mini convenience store & have the option to rent dvd movies for free, my daughter loved this! We have stayed here now for a total of 4 nights on 2 separate occasions and will not switch when making hotel choices unless Homewood is booked up. I think this hotel only ranks 3 stars, but is should really be rated a 4 star hotel. It's just great, absolutely wonderful. There are no security guards on site, but I don't know of a hotel that does have security guards, but they do lock the external doors after a certain hour and the only way to get in is to use your hotel room key to get into the hotel, I felt safe. This is the next best place to home to stay. I wish I could live at Homewood Suites 24/7.

Our room was great! It was quiet & the pull out couch worked great for our daughter! The parking was __ (unlike a lot of hotels in Omaha) and the breakfasts were great! We didn't ask for restaurant suggestions, but I think that they should give you some tips on that when checking in as there's not much around here & the neighborhood is kind of scary at night

  • Best bargain by far in 10 days on the road.

We shopped all over Omaha for the perfect suites-type hotel to accomadate 4 adults. This place not only was superior in every way, but the price was way less than any where else. I was amazed that the rate was as quoted when we arrived, I thought they had made a mistake. (Best rates maybe by phone.) Complimentary beer and wine with potato and stuffings bar in the eve. Brand new rooms, flat screen tv, pro staff. Did not use pool etc., but it looked great, too. Possibly construction on the baseball stadium (caddycorner) will cause some future issues. Right by downtown, and no parking problems. Our stay was quiet and quite enjoyable.

This hotel was perfect for our family of five, including a three-year-old and infant twins. There was plenty of room in the ultra-clean suite and the hotel was very fast in providing two cribs that worked very well. The kitchen area worked very well for dinners in-suite (usually simply brought up the elevator from the light meal (included) in the dining hall). Breakfast was always easy, fast and also included in the nightly rate, seven days a week. The only complaint with the dining hall is that there were only two high chairs, so either our family was using all of those available, or we only had one to split between our twins because another child was using one. Unexpected benefits that we didn't know about when we booked this hotel included a free DVD library, super-easy access from the parking lot to the elevators, 24-hour convenience shop, two flat-screen TV's (one with a DVD player) and full-size refrigerators in the suites. We had a portable DVD player that we very easily plugged into the TV in the sleeping area so our toddler could watch something different than us parents and it also worked as a night light as the twins were going to sleep. Located very close to the Qwest Center in a part of downtown that is obviously in the process of a face lift. ""In the process"" means that traveling in certain directions away from this hotel takes you through some obviously-abandoned and quite run-down parts of Downtown Omaha. Surely this will improve over time, but it is a bit disconcerting at first as you arrive. Parking lot is very well lit, but we didn't want to be outside at night for too long. Very convenient location close to the old market area too.
