The hotel itself was was nice, looked like it was kept clean and was great for a quick overnite stay. Dont expect any views though, we kept our curtains closed because there was a tall apt building next door, with lots of windows. Room was clean with a modern deco to it, the down side is the trash trucks started at 530 AM outside so made it hard to sleep in. Upside is there is lots to do around the Hotel, LA Live, Staples Center and shopping.

Receptionist was very informative when I called about parking, and when we arrived I think it was the same person and she was very professional. Be prepared, the room is SMALL. But the decor was quite modern, but lighting was pretty dim. The bathroom door was a sliding door that kept coming off it's rail, but after we carried it back onto the rail, it worked smoothly. The showerhead is kind of low, but you can just push it up on the pole. The bathroom cups had lipstick stains so I just used my hands. Was told that the 2 floors above have been booked by a wedding party so that night it was quite loud here & there. And the air conditioning was pretty loud (esp. since room was small) and must be turned on or room will get stuffy. Luckily I brought earplugs. Since I sleep on one side, I just put one earplug on & almost all noise were muffled. They don't have a hair dryer, so you might want to bring your own. The complimentary breakfast is just in the entrance area in front of the fireplace. I think they had milk, oj, coffee, 3 different pastries, apples, and oranges (but they were too nice looking). If you want a snack, there's a Subway right on the corner, and there's a 24 hour IHOP across the street. Our main attraction was a concert at the Stapes Center, which was about 4 blocks away...about a 15 minute walk. We were there Saturday and Sunday, and since it's downtown and not workdays, many stores were closed & it was pretty quiet there...so just pay attention to who's walking around you. There is a parking lot to the left of O Hotel at $* (no in-and-out).

The lobby was nicely decorated. The rooms were small, but they were clean and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was done in a nice contemporary style, but it didn't have a tub and the shower had a contempoary hand held shower head, (nice but not convenient). The bed was not that comfortable. And, if you are looking for a room with a view, this is not the hotel for you, 95 % of the rooms face brick walls of buildings beside the hotel. Sleeping past 6am, forget about it. Becasue the rooms are in an alley, you will be awakened by trash and delivery trucks early in the morning. But, I must say the downtown location was great. It is only a few blocks from LA Live and the convention center.

This hotel was in a good, safe neighborhood, close to the Staples Centre and The Convention Center. There were several restaurants, a mall and a movie theater in walking distance. The staff was friendly and the room clean. My only complaints would be; lack of view - out my window was a solid cinder block wall; overpriced for what it is; and, they charged me for phone calls that were local (but different area code) and 1-800 numbers - all confirming other travel details (next hotel, car rental etc.) Almost $30 in phone charges after I confirmed with front desk that local calls and toll free calls would be okay if they did not exceed 30 minutes. That person was wrong.

The "O Hotel" is a lovely little place very convenient to all things downtown LA. The staff was extremely kind and helpful for the duration of my stay. Rooms are small but nicely furnished with contemporary fixtures. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is small but also very nice. Restaurant/bar is excellent with a friendly staff and great menu. If you are looking to go to the Convention Center, it's a 5-7 minute walk or a 2 minute ride on the DASH bus with a stop right outside the hotel doors. The Metro Rail is two blocks away. I would definitely stay again.
