This was a clean hotel, great location, and staff was very friendly. There are a lot of good restaurants in the area and some decent shopping areas also. We stayed there just in route between other places--but enjoyed the stay.

Bad Experience

Made reservations in advance for a guaranteed late arrival. Arrived and hotel did not have our requested room. The hotel accomodated us and said they would correct error next day but we would not be able to get into our new room until after the maids cleaned it. Stated it wouldn't be aproblem as we would not be back until late that night. We took our baggage with us and went about our business. Returned to hotel to find our requested room type once again was not available. Once again the hotel accomodated us by up grading us to a jacuzzi suite. Entered suite and found it to be a handicapped accessible suite. Suite had several problems such as hot water faucet not working in jacuzzi tub, toilet loose from floor and shower curtain to short for handicapped shower which led to bathroom floor being flooded when shower was taken. The room was also next to the pantry for the contnental breakfast so we had a very early wake up call from all the noise the staff made. At check out, hotel tried to bill us extra for the suite when they claimed the night before it would be at regular room rate since our original room request was messed up. Oh, first room, wife woke up with a beetle (no bed bug) on pillow. We had stayed there once before without a problem, but after this weekend stay, we will not be going back anytime soon

The hotel was overall very nice. Facilities were clean. Room was clean. Staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. However, my wife and I had two issues that really ruined our overall hotel experience. First, our room had a very strong musty smell. So offensive that we had to buy electric air fresheners to mask it. It took a couple of hours the first night for the air freshens to do their work so half of our 1-day stay was affected. The second problem was the pool, or better yet, it's location. For some reason they put the pool right next to guest rooms so the noise from the people frolicking was pretty bad since our room was closest and we went to bed early. Had the pool been crowded, this would have been bad enough for us to request a new room. On a positive note, the staff at the desk was extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. I give the two we dealt with 5 stars! If they can get their rooms smelling fresh and nice, this hotel IMO would be highly recommended. Because from a cleanliness standpoint the room was exceptional. If we returned to the area and the room smell was taken care of we would likely stay there again, but not in a room near the pool. But getting rid of the smell might be difficult depending on where it's coming from.

This hotel was wonderful!! Front staff were very welcoming and helpful, as we were new to the area. The suite was large enough for 4 people to watch TV and still have privacy in the the other room. We will stay here again when we return in the spring! A little hard to find off Old Crain Highway - call ahead for directions.
