Checked in on the Sun. of 4th of July weekend for a 7 day stay, along with family staying in separate room. Was somewhat annoyed that refrig. we requested ahead of time was not available for our room, however after explaining that my husband is insulin dependent the front desk advised they would do what they could for us. Prior to having everything unpacked, a refrig. was delivered to our room! The entire staff at this hotel was very friendly & accomodating. We used the concierge service twice & was very happy and satisfied (they even saved us $45 on one of our tours!). Housekeeping staff was equally friendly and our room was spotless every day. We had our 15yr old granddaughter with us & wished we had booked a king room so that we could have had a roll away bed...2 people in a double bed is a bit too much when you're used to a king at home! We used the Metro all week, so having the station so close was a definite plus. Had breakfast at the IHOP nearly every day, which was nice. Found that the hotel restaurant was somewhat pricey, so tried to find more in the area. TIP: Get off the Metro at Clarendon, there are several restaurants within walking distance of the Metro station there, including a Cheesecake Factory, which our teenagers loved. All in all it was a great trip & the Arlington Gateway added to our enjoyment. Would definitely recommend.

Stunning hotel -- modern, minimalist zen-like urban cool ambiance -- beautiful room -- top-notch linens, towels, ultra-clean --- easy walking access to Metro Orange line Ballston stop -- ask staff for short-cut directions through the very charming courtyard --- many shops/restaurant options within easy walking distance --Hunan Gate Chinese restaurant across from Metro is excellent -- I arrived at 8AM on the way into DC from Dulles airport, dropped off my luggage and staff very graciously offered to have the room made ready for immediately check-in -- free flight check-in available in the business center-- overall very pleased especially for the price --

We had a good stay here. It is close to many food choices, the mall and the metro station. We were able to get around without renting a car. The only issue we had at the hotel was that we left some change by the TV that we pulled out of our pockets and after housekeeping came by, it was gone. They obviously thought that it was a tip even though it was mixed with receipts, etc.

This was a very good hotel- the only issues were friends who came to visit had difficulty finding public parking. The business center was closed for remodeling. There are many eateries very close by as well as a large mall with shopping and retaurants galore.
