• Would not honor my Travel Website voucher/receipt/proof of reservation

  I reserved a room 3 weeks before check-in and followed Travel Website rules and printed my receipt with the customer service telephone numbers. I put the room on my credit card through Travel Website and have a receipt that this transaction has taken place.We arrived in Detroit early and dropped by hotel for some tourist brochures from the lobby (there were none, nothing). My wife asked if we could check in since we were there and they said sure but would not honor the Travel Website voucher. Desk clerk said that I should put it on my credit card and when Travel Website clears it up he will cancel my transaction. I declined as I already paid for the room through Travel Website. After 4 calls to Travel Website, talking to 5 different T-reps, and 3 hours, Travel Website said they would cancel our reservation and refund my money. The desk clerk was useless and everyone from Travel Website said, "no problem, I can get this taken care of, no problem." I do not believe Travel Website knows what this means. Ridiculous. If you want to stay cheap in Detroit, stay at the Shorecrest: 3 blocks from PeopleMover, great staff, continental breakfast. monitored parking, better area, deli/liquor half block away,and clean.

  Please take my words and don't go there. The place is filthy, dirty, creepy and totally un-professonal. I cancelled my stay within five minutes of checking in because the prostituition was going on. Instead of taking immediate action against the motel, website refused to refund my money.
