My family has been going to the Port Royal for 20 years now. Since this is such a highly coveted location it is hard to get in. It took us about 3 years to get an efficiency unit for a full week. We had to move around a few times even after we had a week booked. Now we book a year in advance so we don't lose our spot. We always stay pool side but there are empty lots (green acres) on either side of the hotel so the view of the ocean is fantastic no matter what room you are in. They recently redesigned the rooms. They look much more modern but they took away some of the kitchenette. We eat in for breakfast and lunch each day and 1/2 the week for dinner, so the smaller kitchen area is a bit hard for us. We make due though. The pool is fantastic and the fact that the hotel is right on the beach is a huge plus! You can take a ride on the trolley to and from the boardwalk or you can walk if you're feeling ambitious. I loved staying here as a kid and now I take my kids. The entire family looks forward to it every year. The Port Royal is a great place to stay.

We've stayed at the Port Royal twice and have been very happy with it both times. The rooms and pool area are clean and the restaurant is good. There are also nice views from most rooms. We'll probably stay there again on our next visit.
