My wife and I stayed at this hotel and it was immaculate. They were customer friendly and very attentive to our needs. The bed was phenomenal and comfortable as the room was very spacious. We had a wonderful view of the city and couldn't even hear the traffic that was present outside. A very good deal for the price and close to all shopping and museums.

The construction noise, though limited, was pretty understandable since the hotel is in the process of renovating. The room itself was great, with one major exception. This is the first hotel (upscale, decent, or very low end) that I have been to that did not have black-out curtains on the windows. That meant that each morning at about 6:30 the room was bright and sunny; not something I was looking forward to after staying out late with business meetings at the bars. I ended up having to build a wall of extra pillows on the bed and hide my face behind them to get a little extra sleep. The room and staff overall was really great, but being able to sleep past 7:00 would have made the experience much better.

The location was wonderful for getting around Chicago. The room we were given was spacious, clean and well-appointed. The major disappointment was the fitness facility, which (we hope) was under construction. No warning about the poor condition of the facility, which should have been blocked off from public access. So, if you want that amenity, be sure to ask whether it is up and running.

Great hotel for our trip.The entire staff was very friendly and eager to serve us.The location couldnt be better.Although we ate there only once (breakfast) the food was exellent and alot of it.The room was very clean and the maid was upbeat and well mannered.We plan on another trip to Chcago and we will stay at the 71 again.Thanks to all the staff for a great stay.

Stayed at hotel 71 on sept. 3 and 4th 2010 . The place is well kept , very clean . The staff was friendly and there to help for anything . Great view . Close to alot . Theathre district , parks , etc.. great for families as well as others . I highly reccomend this hotel and will definetly go again . Totally amazing place in a great location . Price is right and worth it . I have been to many states and seen alot of different hotels , this is the best one yet .
