We hadn't been to Orlando in 25 years so didn't know where to start when deciding about where to stay and what to see. So...we read the traveler reviews, and based on the consistent favorable comments and rating, decided on Reunion Resort. It was truly beyond our expectations! Our lodging was incredible - overlooked the fairway of one of their 3 golf courses. It was very clean, gorgeous interior decorations, spacious & quiet. The amenities of the resort are spread out, but you always have the option of taking their complimentary shuttle anywhere in their facility. There are numerous pools and each with their own ambience. We took our 9 year old granddaughter so spend most of the time at the water pool where you could "float down the lazy river." You can order food and beverages by the pool and we found that to be enjoyable, convenient and tasty. We ate the breakfast buffet at the golf course club house each morning. Delicious, great variety, reasonably priced and nice view of the golf course. You've got to try out the trendy restaurant, Eleven, on the top floor of the main hotel. It is an open atmosphere that overlooks Disney in the distance where you can view the nightly fireworks. There is also a pool in front of the dining table with a fireplace to the side. Food & beverages are delicious!! We found ALL of the staff at the resort to be extremely helpful & friendly! And....this is a cashless & tipless resort. You use your room key to purchase everything. Your tip is included in purchases, but we found it to be less expensive than constantly tipping for every little service. It is 15 min. from Disney, so you will need to work out your own transportation.

Our son and his fiancée planned their wedding at the Reunion in December 2010. My wife and I and our other son and family checked in the day before. Check-in went smooth and My wife and I went to our room. It was cold and the heat would not come on. The man who brought out luggage to the room said he would take care of it. Well, two hours later and half a dozen trips down to the front desk, we were told the owner of this suite had not paid the electric bill so the power was turned off. At this point, we were late for the wedding rehearsal and had to go. We had no opportunity to change out of our travel clothes or shower. We were eventually told that we had a new suite and that all our luggage had been transferred there. Wrong! Immediately after the rehearsal, we had to go to the rehearsal dinner. we were late but we went to our new suite to clean up and change clothes as fast as we could. When we arrived at this new suite, the staff had just started to move our things. We were late for the dinner of course. The next morning was the wedding. After the wedding we had to get our entry cards renewed several times as they only worked one time.On checking out, we were confronted by a staff member who told us our credit card was not good. After a half hour, we managed to straighten this out. Later we discovered the hotel had run our card several times and had over charged us by about $*! The dinners and wait staff were excellent. They offered no apoligies from the manager or corporate office. No 5 stars-5 Black holes!

Check in was very easy and the grounds and the inside of the unit was very nice. Here comes the but, when we checked in we thought we were staying in a 2 bedroom unit in the Grand. We were told there was nothing available there until later in the week and they would let us know when it was available (no one called) they put us in a unit about 1 mile away from everything. When we got to the unit I thought we were staying off grounds and it had 3 bedrooms not 2 (nice but I think we got bumped out of where we should have). I believe people live here as there were people working on their cars in the parking lot and there were people taking there dogs out for a walk in the morning. If you like golf there are 3 courses, the pool which was part of our area was a long walk and very small (no towels available you have to bring them from your unit). There is very little to do if you do not golf. We had to take our car to drive to anything. Spa very nice clean and the people were very friendly. I would not call Reunion a resort but more of a community and certainly not a 5 star resort as advertised. I felt like I was renting a condo that was furnished instead of a vacation at a 5 star resort with amentities. When you pay for 5 star you expect 5 star, we have been to the Oralndo area 14 times and this is the first time I would say that I would not stay again at a place.

Stayed in the Reunion Grande 2 bedroom and the service was excellent. The facility looks just like the pictures and my family will stay again. Relaxing atmosphere and the children enjoyed the lazy river and what park areas.
