The hotel is poorly maintained.. Me and my children were kept up all night with wild parties and at one point a young woman was locked out of her room naked. When I call the management they said that they called the police. It took four calls and two hours later to get the problem resolved. The management didn't seem concerned almost to business as usual. The police were called out several times during our stay and if I knew MO better i would have moved hotels. The hotel staff were in stained cut off shirts and only cleaned the room once during our four day stay. When I asked the desk for more towels and expressed my concern about the unclean room the gentleman at the door asked if I was a weekly renter. If you have a family I wolud stay away from this hotel like the pelage.

This hotel was... interesting. We got there at 11pm, so it was nearly impossible to find since it was behind another hotel and there was no illuminated sign. The room was generally clean, but there was no soap in the bathroom and there was a hole in the sheet rock of the bathroom. We didn't see any Continental breakfast, but we weren't eager to sit around and try to find it.

This is not a bad motel to stay in,If you don't mind, the smell of smoke slaping you in the face the second you walk in the building, the sounds of the manager yelling at the rowdy guests at all hours of the night, make sure you don't get the room next to the only ice machine in the bulilding because you'll be up all night, and last but not least take your own towels because each room is given only two and it takes two days to get clean ones!! Honest!! I can't complain about the service, the front clerk were very nice... Oh and they only offer breakfast (cereal and bagels) on fridays and saturdays, so be prepared!!!

Seriously, the only thing missing was zombies in this ghost town of urban sprawl. The area directly south of the these two hotels (A1 has a sister hotel across the inner courtyard that is comparably run down- I explored it looking for the ice machine because A1 did not have one or it was broken or something or another) was the Bannister Mall (demolished) and other plazas (unoccupied). The exit for the hotel is closed so we were detoured south and had the pleasure to drive through this huge qhost town. Imagine your local suburban mall with all its corresponding businesses and cars and people and activity and then remove the people, cars, and businesses but leave the buildings and streets. Because there are no open businesses there are also no people so it is probably safe relatively if only passing through. See wikepedia Bannister Mall. As for the hotel: A1 is very tired with very little upkeep. The grass was knee high when we stayed the last weekend of April. The desk person is probably related to or is the owner. If you are looking to sleep inside under a roof with door and windows, a tv that works and you want cheap, this is the place. Definitely not a hotel that you will hang out at. Seems to have long term tenants. No bars or restaurants within walking distance.
