I was a little apprehensive about staying there after reading a few negative reviews about the place but I found the room to be both comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful. It was only a short walk to the metro and the commercial center of Silver Spring which was a big plus since I didn't have a car. In short, it was good value for the money.

Last month, my mother was was a patient at nearby Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park (8 minute driive). My cousin's wife booked this hotel ffor my dad, aunt and myself because it was close to the hospital. Of course, after I told her what happened to me at this motel, she felt so bad about booking us at this motel. However, no blame to her at all since she wasn't familiar with the area. First, we didn't feel safe at this motel. The immediate surrounding area is pretty scary with sketchy guests staying at the motel. At 6a.m. our first morning there, there were people screaming obscenties at each other. It was so bad. I'm from New York City, and I feel safer in NYC than this Travelodge. Second, our first room was filthy. I woke up one morning with bed bug bites all over my legs and arms (mainly left side of my body). I had to go to Washington Adventist's emergency room to get treated. The doctor diagnosed it as bed bug bites and prescribed strong pills. It worked great. Right after my ER visit, my dad and I went back to the motel and went to the front desk. I showed my arms and the E.R. doctor's note to the ladies working the desk, and they gasped when they saw all the disgusting bed bug bites on my arms. They agreed to take off 3 nights off our bill and switched our room. Since my cousin's wife already paid for a week's stay, we stayed until the week was over and switched to nearby Quality Inn, which was very nice and clean. Don't stay here!

Nice having a Subway sandwich shop right there. Easy to get to. The room had very dirty carpets, mold in the bathroom, no breakfast as advertised, the remote control had to be re-programmed to watch TV . Nothing horribly wrong, but not much all that right either. nothing they could fix with $50 labor and $50 worth of materials and they could charge more for the room. Boggles the mind how people don't get how to run a business.

The room was extremely filthy and in desperate need of repairs and upgrades. Beds were so uncomfortable and the a.c. unit was so loud and inefficient that we could barely sleep. We unfortunately booked a smoking room (this being our first time using Travelocity) and we were not able to switch to a non-smoking room. Not that it would have made a difference if all the rooms were of the caliber as this room. I would sleep in my car next time if this was the only motel available in the D.C. area.
