The good: Outstanding downtown location, reasonably priced. The restaurant was above average and also reasonably priced. It's attractive enough, with its modern, minimalist decor. The room style may not be for everyone--a square with a platform bed with one glass wall down the middle of the room separating the bathroom from the rest. Yes--from the toilet, you can see everything in the room, and anyone else can see you unless you pull the shower curtain. The bad: First, the traffic noise on the 6th St. side. It's a sleep killer. The staff sometimes pays poor attention to important details. On my first morning, I was runnning late to a meeting and none of the elevators worked. I took the stairs but realized when I hit the lobby that I'd forgotten my cell phone. However, the doors were locked and I couldn't get back up the stairs. I reported the broken elevators to the front dest guy, who poked the call button, shrugged and went back to his telephone conversation. On returning back to the room my third evening, I found my room had not been made up. Also, the internet service was inconsistent. Also, I tried to find the rooftop bar and never did. Weirdness. This could easily be a first-rate European-style hotel, but it's not. Still--great location, clean, reasonably comfortable, and very reasonably priced.

I had a very pleasant stay, the room was adequate and clean. However, my daughter, who was traveling with me suddenly pointed at the bathroom, which was fully visible through the bedroom wall because the bedroom wall was glass. There was a shower running the full length on the glass wall. It was obviously the star of the show. It even had its own light. It could have used a pole. (Just a suggestion.) The room had several amenities. Oreo cookies, Whoppers, Cracker Jack, a Rice Krispy Treat! It also had vodka, tequila, wine, beer, soft drinks, and other items including condoms, of course, and Mr. Bubble! My daughter and I were wondering exactly who the target clientele was. Obviously someone who likes to savor a rice Krispy Treat while quaffing their wine before cavorting in their Mr. Bubble. My daughter and I had a fairly hilarious stay. She is 37 and I am 75. We did not take a shower.

You dont need to use the valet parking because self parking in the front is 10--which is incredibly cheap for downtown. You do need cash to pay them because it isnt owned by the hotel. The restaurant was good for both casual dinner and breakfast. The hotel lobby turns into a night club around 10 pm which is a bit annoying for check in purposes and trying to see what you are signing. The glass wall between the bathroom and room is interesting. I cant see the purpose and it is definitely TMI! Even the shower curtain is thin using the toilet isnt completely private as well. The tv on the floor and the bed on the floor was hard for me a 50 person who has knee problems so it is very hard to get out of the bed. It was an interesting place but I wouldnt stay there again.

The bad news: the hotel looks like an office building from the outside, and the floor-to-ceiling bathroom facing the bed is too much information. The hotel had sprinkler problems in the kitchen, so no food was being served, and paying $* to print a boarding pass is nickel-and-diming. The good news: nice rooftop bar, fun playing pool in the lobby, good service, decent price. Probably wouldn't stay there again, but would certainly go for a drink there.
