The entrance way is lovely with an inviting veranda. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is an older, "boutique" hotel, and there is no elevator. I appreciate "character" over high-rise, slick modernity so it appealed to me. The continental breakfast was a bit low on protein--no yogurt, for example--but is served in a delightful little room. The room itself was roomy, comfortable, and well-appointed with microwave, little frig. and bar sink. The bathroom--for me--was less handy with a high-rise claw-footed tub and little shelf space. Next time I would request room on "dark" side as parking lot lights made room fairly light at night. But it was quiet and a good stay overall.

Hotel exceeded our expectation. Great period hotel from 30's-40's, but completed renovated in past 10 years. Porch, lobby and reception/breakfast room are beautiful. Nice furniture in all the rooms. Rooms and (particularly) bathrooms are small but cozy. Parking lot adjacent to hotel is gravel and bumpy. Terrific location, only 4 blocks from The Pier, 2 blocks from Central Ave., where many restaurants and bars are located. Culture is nearby, with Museum of Art at the bottom of the street, and the Dali Musuem less than 2 miles away. The staff could not have been more friendly. Happy Hour isa nice touch, and the other guests were friendly. Room rates right now are very reasonable. Will definitely stay there when we are in that area again.

We stayed at the Pier Hotel over Thanksgiving while visiting family for Thanksgiving and found it to be very clean with a wonderful location right near Baywalk and all the downtown restaurants. The staff was friendly and the decor was beautiful. It is an older hotel so it has no elevator, but the stairs didn't bother us. Unless you have a handicap issue it should be fine for most travelers. The breakfast was continental but nicely presented with fruit and a good variety of other fresh food. The happy hour was great with free beer and wine. Nobody does that anymore and it was nice to sit on the front porch and enjoy wine before dinner. The rooms are average size but very clean and well furnished. The rate was very reasonable for what we got and we would stay there again when in St. Pete.
