- January 23 - February 17, 2012: Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa Redwood Pool closure: Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa's Redwood Pool and Slide will be closed from January 23 through February 17, 2012 for scheduled maintenance and refresh. The Fountain Pool & Spa and Mariposa Pool will remain open during this time.

We liked everything about the hotel except the fact that one of the 5 of us had to sleep on the floor on a mat. The pool was great. The life guards very on top of everything. The staff was very helpful and nice. If and when we go back to Disneyland, we will stay here again.

02/28/2011The hotel is amazing as well as downtown disney and disneyland, although way overpriced - definitely will stay at the cheaper disneyland hotel next time.

We booked at kind of the last minute, and the only rooms left were concierge level rooms. The room we got was fabulous. It had two double beds, and a daybed. My two sons (7 and 10) didn't have to share a bed, which always makes a hotel stay go smoother. The room was clean and had nice amenities as far as shampoo, conditioner, a great foot lotion that felt fabulous after being on my feet at the park all day. The concierge lounge was definitely worth the extra money. They have snacks and drinks available all day, starting with a continental breakfast in the morning and appetizers and wine and beer at night. One issue was after the room was cleaned the first day, a sock appeared that didn't belong to us and had been left by a previous guest.

This was our first stay at the Grand Californian and our first visit to Disneyland with our 5 year old boy. What a great experience we had. From the second we walked in to the second all of our bags were in our car and we drove off....the service we received was top notch. Loved how close to Disneyland we were and the access to California Adventure. Plus the perks of package delivery to your hotel. Great place. Can't wait to come back.
