Booked two queens for a stay with my wife, my mom and my son. Offered a room with one King and one rollaway, so ended up upgrading at my own expense with the understanding that the new room, which was on the first floor by the fountains, had a sleeper sofa. First issue was the heater was pumping out a/c, not heat. They fixed it. Then, found that the sofa was not a sleeper so I spent the night curled up in the fetal position on the sofa. Complained to manager the next day and she reduced the rate for 2 of the 3 nights back to the original room

This is touted as a "full-service resort", but does not include an airport shuttle, a microwave, or even a refrigerator (it's a cooler). The pool only stays open until 8:00pm. The ice machine was out of order the whole time we were there, so we had to go to several other floors trying to find one that wasn't out of ice. The room was beautiful, spacious, and very clean (although one sink didn't drain and the a/c was stuck on 70). Employees were very nice, and we were given a slight discount for our inconveniences; but our friends stayed at the hotel next door for 1/3 of what we paid--they had a fridge and their pool stayed open until 11:00. They even had a bowling alley and a movie theater. We stayed at a Best Western on our way home and had a refrigerator, a microwave, and a hot, complimentary breakfast-which included eggs, bacon, sausage, and waffles. **I feel as though I was paying for the Marriott name on our key card.**

Beautiful grounds. Nice room, comfortable be. Would have liked a nicer view for $/night as our balcony was just above the front entry, so there was noise associated with cars driving up/guests arriving. Shuttle does not run frequently enough to/from the strip. 6-8 adults smoked and drank in the kids pool area which made it not very useful for kids. They left their bottles and trash along pool edge, Hotels policy allows smoking outdoors so nothing was done about the adults in kids pool area when mentioned. No incentives to stay and gamble at resort. Food was decent, prices reasonable. Eli at the Spa gave a great Swedish Massage, best part of my stay. Did not use the fitness facility/internet as that was an additional $/day resort fee. Transportation to/from the airport was not cheap. If all you want to do is get away and relax than you will like the JW Marriott, if you want to enjoy Vegas than you will probably prefer the strip. Next time we will stay on the strip.

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several times while visiting grandchildren and will be there in April. On setting foot in the hotel, I was astounded to find the superb architecture and decor. We learned that it was originally built by Europeans and that was explanatory. This property is one of the finest we've stayed in-good service, good food, great grounds. I truly don't ujnderstand any complaints in other reviews. It is between 4 and 5 stars and competes favorably with places we've stayed in the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean. Sincerely yours, Richard S. Kochan
