I "won" this hotel @ a Priceline bid @ $* for PIT airport area 2.5-star 12/31/2010-1/3/2011. I checked into room 104, turned the heater on & slept. I awoke to a 54°F room. I didn't even shower because it was so ridiculously cold. The building's insulation is awful also because I heard thumping from across the walls, thru door & from above. I reported the broken heater to the front desk then left for the day. I returned @ 9:30p to find my room card had demagnetized. Having kept the card away from EM fields all day, its cheap quality was why it demagnetized. The front desk lady recognized me from having taken my earlier heater complaint & asked me to check the room's heater likely because she knew she didn't get it fixed. Indeed, the heater wasn't fixed. She moved me to room 114. The heater worked but the sink's water didn't flow & the toilet didn't work but was too tired to deal with it that night. The next morning, I found the tv remote to be dead. I then examined the sheets to find 6 yellow stains & 3 hairs which weren't mine. Pillows were dusty on the bottom implying they were merely turned over and unchanged & unclean. A toothpaste stain in the sink implied it hadn't been cleaned either due to the lack of running water or plain ignorance. Fed up, I went to Priceline, bid for a 3.5-star hotel (gladly forfeiting my last night @ this hideous dump), moved my items out, registered my displeasure with Nitin @ the front desk, checked out & left forever. Good riddens. I also warn about the "breakfast" (sad-looking 3 cereals, miniscular milk boxes & possibly a muffin), "free" shuttle (apparently, it's either their family van or their

1. Airport Shuttle closes at 12:30 in the morning, meaning I had to go and get my friend in the middle of sleep. 2. Wireless is not accessible in the room I stayed, only in the lobby. 3. Breakfast is bagels, muffins, and cereal-- nothing warm except for what you toast. Otherwise people are friendly and the location was good.

This is the 4 th stay at a Microtel. This time they decided to charge for parking. The new owners and staff cannot speak English so it was hard to communicate. The lights were burned out in half the room and honestly, it had a very bad smell. We realized we left a phone charger behind, so when we returned from our vacation we stopped at the front desk to check lost and found. The man at the front desk said none of the room keys were working and he was not able to check any room or even check any new guests in. There were at least 15 families waiting to check in.

The general manager, displayed terrible management skills. She left a new girl at the front desk who clearly did not know her job. The girl did not know how to take a credit card or check us in, after a very long wait the manager finally came and instead of getting us on our way and makeing sure everything was ok with her guests, she yelled at her employee instead. The only thing I am thankful for is that I only had to stay one night.

Microtel rooms are extremely small and this was no exception. In fact, I believe we had a larger cabin on a cruise ship. It was also a rather dingy room. Bedspread and blanket had burn holes and stains on them. Continental breakfast was pretty sad as well - fortunately there was a Panera Bread and Starbucks within two blocks. This might be fine if you're spending one night and just need a place to sleep and shower, but spending two nights in such a depressing little room wasn't a great idea. Although the rate was very inexpensive, you only get what you pay for.
