The best thing about this hotel is that the place we ate dinner at was the Rice....quotLOVE IT!quot...It was just opening up that week and we was serviced really good. We was on our honeymoon we never had because of my husband job.Two thumbs up for the sushi bar in there. The rooms could have been better. We was suppose to get a bottle of water but didnt. It took the cleaning crew a minute to pick up stuff out of the hallway. Thats the only thing that we had going wrong about the place. You know what so funny is that some people who work there was so so so nice. Then you had others that wouldnt even say good morning to you. Might go back if the rates are right....Had a okay time with my husband..

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had--so much so that although I've stayed in many hotel rooms over the last 15 years, I've never left a review, but I have to in this case in order to warn anybody wanting to stay at the prestigious Luxor that this is caveat emptor. I booked a room next to Mandalay Bay where my conference was being held and The Luxor has always had a good reputation so it seemed like a no-brainer--boy was I ever wrong. The first thing after I was given my key and directions to my room (stayed in the "Pyramid" section) was that the elevator was a nice long trek past a dingy corridor that was under construction. The elevator shook and rattled like I was in a small earthquake and once I got out of the elevator, yet another long trek to my room which looked like it hadn't had a single update since the 70's other than a remote control for a very small old 24" television probably made in the early 90's. There was no literature on any of the hotel services\ameneties etc. and I can honestly say your average Hotel 6 room is easily a better stay than this piece of garbage. The "non-smoking" room had a very stale\stagnant smell and the sheets and curtains smelled strongly of smoke. I figured for the price I could deal with it, but after about an hour in there I just couldn't stand it anymore. When I went down to see about changing rooms, they (to their credit) upgraded me to a more modern (and much cleaner) room. In the wait line a couple days later I heard a couple complain of exact same thing.

The hotel had a hidden resort fee of about $* that wasn't included in the reservation. Also the rooms where not that clean! The first night I was there I had to request the comforter to be change because of stains! There was two beer caps on the floor. Housekeeping wasn't good at all! Overall the hotel wasn't up to my standards.I wouldn't recommend anyone who is traveling to Las Vegas to stay at the Luxor point blank period.

Yes, the Luxor is now 'old Vegas,' but we had a wonderful stay. Pluses: The price was right and we were a tram ride away from many other casinos and activities. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Great hotel exhibits with a good discount for hotel residents (Titanic and Body were both there) A nice ambiance, with interesting sculptures and quiche art. Ready access to less expensive food (check out the walkway tot he Excalibur for cheaper chain restaurants) Variety of games, tables, and price ranges Cons No WiFi, which was a downer (especially as 3G is so spotty in Vegas hotels). If you want high speed internet, bring your laptop. Buffet isn't that great (but is part of the 7 casino buffet deal, so you can move on). Somewhat awkward layout - but so are all hotels on the strip. Pushy, time-share dealers throughout the casino (including where you check in) Overall, we had a great stay here. The cost was more than affordable and freed up cash for other activities.
