This is a classic hotel, yes it still has a CRT TV. The rooms are not huge. If you want a huge room, get a suite. Travel was for business, and it was perfect for me. Right downtown. Could walk to theaters and the ball park. If you want to not remember where you were staying, even what city, stay at the Marriot. If you want to stay in a beautiful building with character, and don't mind if everything isn't the same as every other hotel, stay here. And save half your money for a better experience.

If you are longing for a charming European experience, but don’t have the time, nor the inclination to travel across the Atlantic, consider checking into The Lancaster Hotel in Houston’s downtown theatre district. I did, and my experience was thrilling. First and last impressions are forever! Andrea took care of my pre-reservation needs with great accuracy. During check in Kelly was gracious and XYZl was wonderful with the check out process. Since I have stayed at The Lancaster many times before, I’m always looking for consistency in the quality of guests’ services, room comfort, and great valet service (XYZ, ABC, and PQR ). You’ll enjoy fresh flowers in every room, a large, white sparkling marble bathroom, tasty foods and beverages are offered in the Bistro, with a New American Cuisine menu. Dino is the best Bartender in the area. The countless little memorable tidbits remind me of a certain place when choosing a special hotel lures me back. ABC and XYZ keep a watchful eye on the tiniest, simplest details that make a huge difference in a good stay versus a great one. ABC went the extra-mile visiting with me inquiring if I were well cared for. As a final “insider tip,” in the Bistro, try Dino’s martini and from the menu you might want to consider the delicious crab cakes, lamb meatballs, and one of their fresh salads; these items are served anytime. Plan on taking advantage of the newly installed, happy hour appetizers and drinks specials, from 4:30-5:30 weekdays, I did and was quite impressed.
