The best things about this hotel are very good indeed: its location and its parking set-up. If you are interested in checking out the Nelson-Atkins (main) museum or the Kempner (the contemporary) then you are practically on top of them. From my hotel room, I was able to see one of the outdoor sculptures at the K. museum --it was practically underneath my window! I took the car to the main museum but shouldn't have bothered; it would have been easier to walk. You can also walk down the hill to the Co. Club Plaza shopping area and not have to hassle with the traffic/parking. Or you can walk up the hill a short distance and find yourself in the Westport historical/entertainment district. There are many parks to walk in nearby, with the trademark Kansas City fountains to appreciate. Really, the location of this hotel on Main St. makes everything easy to get to--you just drive up or down it! As I was traveling alone this time, it took a lot of the anxiety out of getting around. The hotel itself was very pleasant, clean, and quiet, and the staff at the front desk were very helpful w/ directions. They let me keep my car in the garage (which you can go into and out of w/o anything more than a sticker on your dash--it's free!) after I checked out (just that day of course). Will always use this hotel in KC!
