This property was under renovation when we stayed, but the staff was very accomodating and friendly. It is an older style hotel, so if you are looking for gleaming and modern rooms, it is not the place to stay. The location is very good and in a nice residential area of Chicago.

My family stayed there over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are small which is to be expected for a historic hotel. We were comfortable and very well taken care of by the all of the staff. My 6-year-old was treated like a king by everyone at the hotel. We also enjoyed our Thanksgiving brunch in the Pump Room which was elegant and delicious. We've stayed here before and always are impressed by the hotel and its neighborhood location that takes you away from the crowds of the Mag mile.

Stayed here for 1 night and was pleasantly surprised to find many bars and restaurants walking distance from the hotel. The hotel has a really cool feel. Definitely feels historic, but the rooms didn't bother me. Some have complained that they needed work but whatever, we only stayed in the rooms to sleep basically. Go out to see Chicago!! It was great.

I was very pleased with this hotel. I got it for a great rate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even got into my room at 8:30 a.m.! The best part is the neighborhood. Lots of beautiful trees and brownstones, people out walking pets and great restaurants nearby. An easy bus ride to Water Tower Place. The room was very clean and tasteful. The only downside was the worn carpet and paint. Bathroom had been updated. A very good experience!
