upon arrival the first thing the desk person said was ""you should have just come in, it would have been cheaper"" then i tried to change to credit card information and was told i couldn't do that. then 3 days into my stay, i dropped a pair of earrings down the drain. i called the front desk who said they would send a maintenence man up. the front desk said that i din NOT have to be there when the maintenence man arrived. i had business to do, but i was 10 minutes away. i called twice to check on the status and was told the man hadn't arrived yet. when i got back to my room around 3 pm, i was told that the maintenence man had come but since i wasn't in the room he would not enter, yet no effort was made to contact me so i could be there. thus, the cleaning crew had come and gone and the sink was used. finally, 2 days before i left, i was told that the hotel was going to exchange the mattress in the room. i stayed for the crew to do that. when they lifted up the mattress therre were 8 crack pipes (!) between the mattress and box spring. needless to say i did not feel very safe, though i realize the hotel wasn't responsible for the paraphenalia. still, it was scary thinking that who- ever had been there might try to return. and no, i wasn't offered a room change.
