I never write reviews but I thought this hotel deserved one so here goes. I was only staying one night in Atlanta so I thought it would be a good time to try hotwire for the first time. When I purchased and they informed me what hotel it was I instantly looked up the reviews, I read mostly good and some very bad reports from people and was thinking that if I had gotten stuck with some fleabag of a place I could just check into some other hotel close by. I self parked it was pretty simple, check in was a breeze quick and pleasant, I asked and they gave me a corner king no problem. The hotel is no ABC folks and you can tell its a redo- but my room was nice, the bed and linens (which to me is the most important part of any hotel room) were very comfortable and duvet and pillows truly made for a good nights rest, the room clean, and the TV was huge and new something you would want at home to watch a game on! The bathroom was just ho hum could be better could be worse but alas I'm not sleeping in the bathroom. What really made the hotel (besides the bed) was the staff- everyone was so friendly and helpful, the front desk even sent up 5 different menus for restaurants that deliver when I wanted some specific take-out. My car was parked at the side entrance and I felt safe enough to go out to my car after midnight and grab a book. They gave me a generous late checkout more than enough extra time to finish some work. All and all I would go there again- granted I did get a good deal on the room and that made it all the sweeter.

My friend and I ended up staying at the Sheraton Atlanta Downtown very last minute. We were in town for a conference, and the original hotel we were staying at ended up being a horrible first night experience. We booked a room at the Sheraton for the very next day. From the moment we stepped into the Sheraton hotel it was a much needed relief. We were instantly greeted by friendly door and front desk staff. We arrived at the hotel early in the morning, just wanting to store our luggage for until check-in while we attended our morning conference sessions. We told the front desk clerk of our previous hotel experience and she told us that there was a room already available and if we would like to check in early. We were so impressed that she would give us that option and so very grateful. The hot breakfast buffet was very good, and the wait staff were very courteous. I do think that the meal was a little over priced at $*. The concierge was very very helpful, she gave wonderful suggestions of Atlanta night life, and directions to how we needed to get to certain places. The only thing that bothered me was the sheets on the hotel bed. The sheets seemed to small for the mattress and would constantly pull off the mattress while laying in bed. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the future, and I am much more inclined to stay at Sheratons in other cities as well. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

02/23/2010This hotel was very nice. it's in a good location close to most tourist activities. staff friendly and answered questions with a smile. i would definitely stay here again.

I stayed @ the hotel during the Full Gospel Baptist Convention June 23-27, 2009. I must say the entire stay was wonderful. There were front desk staff, who were very polite, and professional. My hat goes off to Mr. Derrick, he was absolutely adorable. I plan on staying there again next year. Only this time, I will bring friends.

First night there I was biten by a bug in the bed and woke up with a huge red bump on my face. Later on in the day I found a bug in the bed and called the maid in and she changed the bed sheets. I went downstairs and told someone at the front desk and she called for a manager and it took him over 15 minutes to finally take some time to come and speak to me. He then told me that he would never work in a hotel that had bugs, making me feel as though I was lying. They eventually changed my room but DOWNGRADED me. The new room had a smaller bed and a much smaller bathroom and the AC did not work. The manager was incompetent and rude. I would never stay here again. There is much much better hotels two blocks away for the same price and so much nicer.
