Stayed during the last week of December, there was nothing going on at the conference center and thus the hotel was not busy. The cafe/convenience store was closed as were amenities in the conference center so there we not many options within walking distance from the hotel. Standard room on 5th floor was good size but with odd layout and the toilet was not attached to the floor and would tip if bumped or sat on - so requested room change. Second room (on same floor) same odd layout and did not have a safe (first room did) and they could not provide one. There were holes in the sheets (they were clean though) and some of the furniture and fixtures were fairly worn looking. They seemed to want to consolidate the few guests they did have to the lower floors. And the two room I saw were clearly the budget rooms. Housekeeping kept the rooms fairly clean, the hallway pickup of room service trays was slow and you would always see dirty trays on the floor outside of rooms. Compared to other hotels that I have stayed at near conference centers the up charges for parking, internet, room service, etc. were typical. I would not recommend this hotel for vacation travelers - for the same price you can stay downtown at a more comfortable hotel with better amenities and nearby attractions. If you are attending an event at the convention center the location is perfect.

The front desk service was good, conciere was great. The room view was terrific and room was clean and nice. Telephone and TV remote were dirty but that is pretty standard every place. I recommend you bring along alcohol pads for those every time you travel. The restorant was very nice and service was great.

The only disappointing thing was that the hotel advertised a free hourly shuttle to the Shedd and Navy Pier and that was a selling point in selecting a hotel. After I checked in and inquired about the shuttle I was informed that the first shuttle wasn't until 11 am. Who wants to wait around until 11 am? The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful; there were taxis available everytime we went anywhere which was good because it really isn't walking distance to any tourist attractions that we were interested in. I would stay there again because the hotel was very clean and the staff was all very nice and helpful. Next time, I'll be planning for all that taxi fare though!
