I liked the hotel, the food down in the returaunt was great along with the service. The only gripe that I have was the front desk. The attitude of those people needs to change, or git rid of.

My family and I made reservations through the travel agency, a simple and easy process. Now I get that we went through a third party site to get discounted rates, I get that and understand that you may not get the best available rooms. However, we did not expect the front desk to be so surly, when we checked in they were professional, but not pleasant. When we asked about the small market being closed (we needed toothpaste) the lead at the desk, shrugged and said he didn't know and turned away. I waited patiently and finally walked around, then about 15 minutes the clerk came back and I bought toothpaste and water. When I returned to my room, my wife and children pointed out to me that the sofa sleeper had dirty sheets, I saw mascarra stains and long blonde hair all over the sheets. I called the desk and asked for housekeeping to come and change the sheets. The desk, said "I'll have someone come up." No apology or sorry sir we'll get it resolved...someone will come up. The housekeeper who came up was professional and quick, earning the tip we gave her. The front desk here is very surly, I heard other guests talking about the desks demeanor also. The location is nice, and the overall the facility was nice, but the only two people we thought were pleasant, professional and welcoming were the bellman and the valet. I am a Hilto Honors memeber and usually patronize Hilton for consistancy, however this place is making me think again, maybe we will look elsewhere next time.

Stay started with me asking for upgrade which was part of the promo rate I purchased. Without even looking attendant stated there where no upgrades available. I then asked him to give us the breakfast buffet ($*) in lieu of unavailable upgrade, no go. Go to elevator, it comes down but takes 4 minutes to open. Room was fair, carpets rather worn, one of the phones made a clicking noise every 10 seconds until I unplugged it. Bed was comfortable, bathroom nice and the fridge actually had a temp control. Bottle opener in room which you don't see often anymore. Went to buffet at 7 in the morning. After waiting for elevator for another 4 minutes I noted that neither elevator was moving. Stairs only lead to outside and will trigger alarm when you go through. Called front desk and after many rings (40 -50) someone picked up and instructed us to go through a service door and use the service elevator which was trashed. Breakfast was good, have an omelet chef, usual fair else-wise. Valets pleasant and quick.

08/05/2009The hilton suites anaheim was by far the best hotel that we stayed at during our recent trip to ca. i would definitely stay there again!
