The young man who checked us in was surly. When asked where the Metro station was he whipped his arm backward. I asked what did that mean it was close, up the street, what? He replied "Yes". We had to go look for it ourselves. Hotel is very old, we had ants in bathroom. Gentleman who did the morning shift was just as unfriendly, unsmiling. We were never offered the "free" shuttle to the metro. Fancy Mercedes sat out front and looked like it never moved. Only person who had a great customer personality was young woman who checked us out and wished us a great day and safe travel. Her bosses need to take a serious lesson from her, and also put some money in the place.

room was clean, staff was adequate. Free continental breakfast, which was not on the page (i think). About a 10 minute drive to the national mall. Unless you were traveling during the rush hours, and in that case it took over an hour!! Overall, a very nice stay. Not for the techie, wireless internet was patchy.

My stay was great. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, the staff was very kind and the room was spacious and clean. I had a great stay and would stay again if I was in that area. The metro station is really not as far as others have commented on. Its a 15-20 minute walk.

Days Inn needs to pull their affiliation with this hotel because its the worst Days Inn Ive ever stayed in. Needs "major" renovation. you could tell that the owners havent put a dime into the upkeep in a long time. Do your homework because there are numerous "brand new" hotels and "very nice" independents right across the street that you could probably get for the same price if not cheaper. The place just looks dirty. I stayed two nights and had issues with ants and spiders both nights. The only positives were that its in a safe location with plenty of places to eat within a 1/2 hour of downtown. Staff seemed friendly.

The location and price were the reasons we booked here, and we were satisfied w/both. A bonus was the free shuttle to the Metro.(We were planning to walk; and did each evening on our return and 2 mornings going into DC.) The staff was pleasant, the room was clean. That was key for us.
