The room was nice and quiet considering it was right next to the airport. It was comfortable, the beds were comfortable. A nice thing was that there was a partial wall separating the beds from the study/work area. However, the hot water faucet in our sink and some of the other sinks sang when they were turned on. This woke me up more than once because people used their sinks in the middle of the night. It wasn't annoying until you tried to sleep.. One of our key cards didn't work right. They had to try two times to fix it. I think it had a bad magnetic strip. There was an onsite restaurant and the food was good, but pricey. In fact, everything in California seemed pricey. Gas jumped almost a dollar a gallon as soon as we crossed the state line. Food went up considerably too. Considering that, the room rate was pretty good, but it was the highest we paid going all the way across country. Loved that fact that there was shuttle service every 15 minutes round the clock. The shuttle driver wasn't that polite, but that's not a reflection on the motel. My biggest gripe was parking. When I couldn't figure out where to park after 3 trips around the block, I asked about parking. The hotel employees looked confused when I asked where to park. I went around the block a few more times looking for the place to park. They didn't tell me that there was no onsite parking and everyone was forced to valet park. I wanted to use the car again that day, but they I'd have to have someone go get it... Also, I had no clue where to go if I wanted to retrieve something from the car.

One caution, however. If you book using an online agency bring your paperwork. Sometimes agencies make mistakes. I asked for 2 Double beds, but instead, to my surprise, when I got to the room there was only one King. The online agency I’d used sent me an email confirmation for 2 Double beds, but when I got to the hotel they had reserved something different. The management would not accept my explanation, but asked for proof. They weren’t belligerent, but they were persistent. If I had not brought my paperwork, one of us would have been in a bed and the other on a very stiff couch.

My husband & I were very pleased to stay at Courtyard. The staff was very pleasant, the atmosphere is comfortable & beautiful, and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. The room we stayed in was relaxing & had a great layout. The only thing we didn't care for was the view from our room, but we do not blame the hotel for it. They were building a parking garage across the street at the time of our stay, and there are quite a few other hotels in the area. As far as noise, it was very quiet in our room and the hallways. We were only a mile from LAX & never heard a plane. The bathroom & vanity area are nicely done & clean. The bed was clean & comfortable, as was the pull-out sofa. There was plenty of storage space for belongings. The wireless internet was easily accessible. The lobby & restaurant are very nice. There is a computer area for guests, there is a bar area, and adjacent to that is the classy, but casual open restaurant. They offer only valet parking for approx. $15 per day which seemed to be average pricing for the area. The parking area is directly in front of the hotel so we felt safe leaving our car there. The fountains in front appear to be well maintained & a great photo opporotunity! There are shopping malls, grocery stores, & restaurants all within a mile or two. This hotel is very close to all the beaches, including Marina Del Ray, & Manhattan Beach. They also offer shuttles to/from LAX. Our children didn't come for this stay, however we would bring them in the future. The area the hotel is in wasn't bad. We enjoyed our walk & the scenery. Would recommend to anyone!
