felt dirty
12/06/2010Stayed during remodelling, but everything looked dirty. peeling paint in room, mirrors and glass over pictures were spotted. desk chair was dilapidated.

Our rating of this hotel for this particular trip.... Would like to have know this hotel was under a major remodeling. Our previous stay would have received an excellent rating. This time it was a little shaky with the rennovation. We wouldn't have booked there had we know of the remodeling and no restaurant available. No opinion on the dining since that option was not available this trip. They did offer a continental breakfast set up in a conference room; ABC, the breakfast hotess was wonderful. Cleanliness of the room was great. It was just wading through the mess in the first floor hallway that was difficult. They did have it cleaned up before we left.

For a tourist, this motel is probably not well-located. It is in a residential area of South Kansas City and not near some of the sightseeing attractions. We chose this motel because it is in the area where we have relatives. The motel is clean, attractive, and has all the amenities that I was looking for. I stayed here three years ago as well and was equally pleased then. The staff was very courteous and friendly...I was somewhat dismayed that the breakfast fare was not part of the room price, but the buffet charge was reasonable and the convenience of eating on the premises was definitely worth it. Our room was next to the ice machine, so we were awakened several times each night by the clanking of ice cubes filling someone's bucket. The next time I will request a room further away from the ice machine. But otherwise, I think this is great value for the money, and I would stay there again.
