There's no way this place is a 4 -star
01/07/2011The room i got in the roosevelt was a dump. tiny, dirty, rundown and facing the a bank of hvac boxes. i dispute the 4 star rating.

If you really want to do Hollywood this is the only place to stay. An older hotel that retains it's classic old hollywood feel but has been updated with a new funky eclectic vibe. It's right inthe middle of everything.

We had two rooms for our family. The suite on the 12th floor was great. It had a nice view, king size bed and good size bathroom. The other standard room was very small (we called it the dorm room). No room to move around. The hotel is not handicapped friendly. The bell service was terrible ~ had to wait 45 minutes to get our bags. Good \valet service, quick check-in. We enjoyed breakfast at the 25 degrees cafe. Not too sure I would stay there again.

This is a real Hollywood landmark and a great location if Hollywood is your destination. Unfortunatly when they remodeled the hotel they went for a cold urban contemporary look and feel, removing all connections to the old Hollywood the Roosevelt was famous for. We stayed there to attend the Academy Awards right across the street so for our purposes the location was excellent. Lots of production people, media and actors, agents, etc were there but so was the parties until 3AM and these room are NOISY! People in the room next door sounded like they were in our room! The bathroom was small and the pedistal sink was ackward with no counters so you had to put your dob kit on the toiles seat. The resturants were OK but not amazing or anything. The maid service was attentive when we called but our room wasnt made up until 5PM both nights-but I am sure they were busy due to the awards going on that weekend. Sounds like I am complaining but I still enjoyed staying in the heart of Holywood at a place that will always be a huge and important part of Hollywood history.
