On our arrival, staff upgraded us to suites overlooking the East River. Accommodations were outstanding - we wished we were staying longer! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and was especially helpful in keeping for us - and then returning - a camera which we did not discover had been left behind until two weeks after we checked out. Neighborhood is lovely: scenic and historic. But, a bit far from access to subway. Looking forward to staying with them again!

Having traveled fairly extensively internationally, I believe I have ample experience with hotels to offer this review. The Beekman Towers should not be represented by four stars and even three stars is a stretch. The pros to the hotel was the view from Top of the Tower, the size of the hotel suite, the location, and the staff. The cons however, were so problematic that I could not recommend this hotel and do not believe Travelocity should offer it on their site. I have never refused a hotel room in all the years I have been traveling, but in this hotel I had to refuse the first room . Upon entering, it was dingy and dark and the carpeting was puckered in the middle of the room, and coming up in so many spots that I was appalled. The staff was kind enough to move me upon request, and gave me a larger room, which I accepted. The room was better but did not meet what I would consider minimal criteria for three stars. The furnishings, which were old, dingy and had multiple stains , scratches and markings, was tolerable. The carpeting while newer, had multiple runs and frays but was tolerable as well. What I did not find acceptable : ironing board cover so stained that I put a towel down to press my clothes, the sofa bed was impossible as a bed, the bathroom needed scrubbing. The shower curtain was not clean, the mildew on the tiles around the tub unforgivable, and the space between the tub and the sink had a layer of dust so thick that I was appalled. The bathroom window miniblinds were dusty and broken. Although the room was nonsmoking, we smelled smoke throughout our stay.

In NYC for business and pleasure - always looking for good deals. Picked Beekman based on Travelocity info and because "Auntie Mame" (Rosiland Russel version- she lived in Beekman Place) Usually stay in Southstreet Seaport. Beekman staff was great - from check-in to check-out! Senses of humor, helpful and everything else! Very nice room with the right view. Really was like a cool NYC apt! Quiet at night. Close to the exciting stuff but nice "neighborhood" too! Bus stop almost at front door.

I thought wow a great price....but the old saying you get what you pay for is just that. The bed was hard the A/C kept me up all night, and I took showers in knee high water because the tub wouldnt drain. So i guess if you like that or can deal with thoose things. The staff was not on the same page either. It was not the hotel i was looking for... i wish i had changed hotels....

the staff was very friendly and helpful with our questions about NY. Location was great for walking to wherever we wanted. they are pet friendly with no charge but there is nowhere around the building to walk your dog to use the bathroom. The building was not what I expected…. It was very old and you can smell that. the bed was very uncomfortable, the kitchen was not clean enough for me and the freezer was unusable. stove was dirty. The décor was very basic. Table didn’t match chairs and bedding was just sheets. Sheets for comforter too. the tile in the bathroom had mold in the grooves and tile pieces broken off in the floor.
