We had a great stay at the Golden Nugget March/April 2011. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were gorgeous and clean. The restaurants were very nice especially The Buffet. Freemont Street was incredible with the light shows and live music - all right outside the casino doors. This was our first trip to Vegas and hoping it won

I had complete satisfaction. I was upgraded due to availability. The staff was professional and courteous. No hidden fees or anything. It was always clean and well maintained. I have been to the Golden Nugget before, and I will return in the future.

We stayed in the carson tower and it was clean and comfortable. The bed they use is serta and the bathroom though small is clean and servicable. It is really close to the RTC public transportation system which is good because you can buy a three day pass from freemont to all the hotels on the strip for twenty dollars a ticket. Now for the bad DO NOT check in with a debit card or let them get your debit card on file for any reason! They had mine on file because I upgraded to VIP check-in#40 a good deal for thirty dollars you get a line pass for meals and free juice and water in the vip lounge not to mention prefered check-in times#41 and they charged to my bank account!!! The hotel was able to straighten in out with the bank but it was still a hassle. The only other annoying thing is that there are people trying to sigh you up for time shares EVERYWHERE!! At the entrance to the casino from the street and stationed right next to the elevators for the rooms. Its not just a the golden nugget though these people were at every casino or hotel we went to. Overall Its a good place to stay right on freemont #40which is more laid back and cheaper than the strip#41 but use a credit card not a debit!!

The Golden Nugget is probably the best hotel downtown. It is in a great location, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The only complaint is housekeeping left an empty Dorito bag on the floor by the window (which wasn't ours). This bag was there when we checked in. We finally threw it away ourselves after 3 days. Other than that our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We will definitely be staying there again when we visit Las Vegas.
