Having stayed in several Hyatts before, the Hyatt Arlington is the worst. My reservation requested early check-in. Upon arrival around 2:30 PM, I was informed the suite I reserved was still dirty. I could leave my luggage at the front-desk (which I chose not to do) til 3 PM check-in. I return at 3:30 PM and was told my room was still not ready. I opted a downgrade at the same price, but it was a cleaned room. I go to run an errand only to return to find a person (slight in built, 5' 10" tall white male in t-shirt, painter's pants, with a mustache) coming out of my hotel room. I couldn't believe what I saw! I checked my room to see if I was robbed! This stranger pulled the wall fiche plate right out of the wall. I called the front-desk and expressed my concerns. The staff wasn't all that interested in addressing the issue. So, I had to instead tell him a fib (white lie) and said to staff that the room was too small and I want my suite if that's ready. In no time at all, I was wisked upstairs to a suite. But only to discover the suite wasn't clean at all. The tile in the shower was dirty. The bed linens smelled of heavy body odor. And there seem to be a tiny biting critter in the room as well. I wouldn't recommend this hotel regardless of its convenient locale. Having contacted their corporate office about this, I haven't heard back from them yet. In summary, terrible security, terrible cleanliness.

First, I was charged for two of the four rooms I reserved when our business meeting was cancelled at the last minute. The hotel would not credit back the two rooms. I had to re-route and re-schedule my weeks travel 500 miles out of the way so I could use the two rooms that were not refundable. Second, the room was nice except for the used sandwich bag and the six used tissues left in the room before I checked in. All in all, not a good business experience.

stayed 3 nights and the hotel in April 2009 and it was great. It is right next door to the Rosslyn metro station making it easy to get anywhere in the D.C. area on the train. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. Our room was very nice except that the air conditioner vent was up on the wall opposite the bed and blew directly on us while sleeping. Highly recommend this for anyone traveliing to D.C. for cost, location, and service.

Beware especially of lower floor rooms as you will view the constuction mess out the window. This hotel should have closed it door while this renovation was in process., or at least done a better job of stagging this work to keep it from their guest's view. The lobby had just as well been located in a construction trailer. Based on the appearance of the room on the 9th floor where we were finally moved to, this hotel will be a fine destination when finished. However, we were disappointed that this hotelier thought it was acceptable to have all common areas so unsightly and littered with construction debris. While we were given some credit on our bill, it was not enough. Moreover, we were angry that Hyatt reservations had not warned of this property's condition.
