  Omni Westside is a work in progress. If you are a traveling petroleum engineer or, simply not looking for pampered luxury, then this just might be your place. For me, there were too many kinks that needed ironing out; the tiny details inspired with a touch of class are missing here. You might find empty glasses in the hallway overnight into the next day, as I did. Or, perhaps a power failure, on the wing of the hotel, leaving you in total darkness, which I encountered. Having said that, I did have a rather pleasant stay during an earlier visit. There was a completely different staff of seasoned professionals that took great care of me. Try to get a room with a view of the lake stocked with colorful fish. It’s quite soothing.

  Omni - a fine hotel w/ superb employees. But be prepared for being ""nickle and dimed to death"". Sheraton provides complimentary things, like water. Omni provides this for a nominal cost of $5.95/bottle+tax. Local calls? That'll cost, too.

  There are few better deals. The locale is MASSIVE construction, much like a 5-year-old's toybox...Houston likes to start playing with 1 project, then jump to another. The interior was refreshingly pleasant: running water, nicely decorated, soothing. The room was very nice; decorations recent. Wireless internet was available, but unpublicized.
