We, myself and two adult sisters, attended a much publicized political rally in Washington DC. Our budget would not allow us to stay in DC proper. So we stayed in Arlington on the cheap.Our room at the Days Inn was basic and clean with plenty of towels. After the rally we took a very short drive into Geogetown, and had a fabulous Mexican dinner, We had a lovely walk through out Georgetown. We also visited the Arlington National Cementary, a moving experience. I would reccommend this hotel, for anyone who is visiting the DC area on a budget, especially for those who are travelers, on the go, and who do not wish to lounge in their room throughout their trip.

When I checked in, they put me in a room beside a noisy stair well at the front of the building that faces a very noisy street. I asked for a new room that was quieter and was given a room in the back. It was much quieter but I do not understand why they gave me the worst room in the place in the first place since the place was never more than 20% occupied. I asked for wake-up calls the first 2 mornings and did not receive them. I told the front desk after the first day I did not get a call, and though they were nice, and promised that it would not happen again, the next morning they forgot to call again. This would be a disaster for someone who depends on the call. The motel was not cheap at $*/day since it feels and looks like an old Motel 6, but it is located in a high demand city with expensive accommodations so it is reasonable. The staff was very nice, always a big plus.

This motel has taken several serious hits by travelers which I found to be unjust and inaccurate. We found it to be a great location with a really helpful staff. It was clean though obviously old but we were here for the Cherry Festival and it really met our needs. It is not intended to be a 5 star and the price reflects that. We are from the midwest and understand prices here are very high but this was only 20% of the top end yet the bed was great, water hot, floor and fixtures clean. The front desk people were great and the shuttle service great. On time and accommodating. The in house restaurant was fine for breakfast with courteous service. There is a GREAT mid eastern restaurant just behind the motel (Astor). Wonderful staff and fantastic food. (We enjoyed supper there several times) Outdoor tables, beer and wine. Metro is 5 min away but your want to take the shuttle as parking is difficult in Roslyn and sidewalks non existent along the parkway. There is supposedly another station (Court House) you can walk to but after a day tramping in Washington another hike was not a good idea. We are senior travelers who have been around the world and for a place to sleep safely this is a great deal.
