We stayed at Flatotel in midtown. Dropped off our bags early and came back at 4:00 to be shown to two suites - each with 1.5 bathrooms. Sparsely furnished with some minor condition issues but very very very large space with a kitchen. Breakfast (contental) was forgetable - you could do better at most economy hotels. Otherwise the stay was pleasant at a great location.

An overnight on a very hot (95o) July night. Front desk was very helpful and friendly both on the phone and in person. Told us where to park for $* /24h, very convenient, one block away, through the cut-through. When we found our room was on a smoking floor - 14 and 21 and one other are - they were able to change us to another room right away on a non smoking floor. Room was well appointed, compact but comfortable, AC worked fine, bathroom large and nice. Everything was very clean. Check-in @ 4PM, check-out @ 11AM.

  • Would not stay there again!

The hotel was conveniently located for what we were in town for... the Museum of Modern Art. The bed was comfortable and fluffy - we like that. The bathroon was fine but you could hear water running all night... Sounded like the toilet running but you couldn't see any movement so I'm not sure what was going on. The bathroom floors could use a good scrubbing! The elevators are unbearably slow and there's a security guy there who seems amused by your long wait! Lord know what was in the bottom of the ice bucket the next day (little pieces of something..). We were glad we hadn't consumed any of the ice, just used it for chilling our worn out feet. The bellman we used prior to departute was excellent - I wish I had noted his name.
