Stayed here one night mid February. Staff was kind enough and pleasant. Relatively clean room, however the size was ridiculously small. Traveled with husband and daughter. No one got a wink of sleep on a Thursday night. People walking in the halls til 1am and using the vending which was at least 3doors down. I am normally aware of what you get for noise but these people sounded as if they were in our room. Our room looked out on the parking garage which was echoing right up to our window. We got up in pain from the mattresses as well! Also, thought this hotel was closer to Dupont circle however much too far and during the weekday the local high school one block down released around 3pm and the metro was utter chaos.

  • Wery good hotel.

I had read some reviews before I got there, so I knew what negatives to expect. I'm giving it 5 STARS based on value. I had a big interview at another hotel a mile and a half away that would have cost me 3x the rate at Days Inn. I drove up after 11:30 at night and there was a helpful Security Guard to tell me about parking, held open the locked door, held the elevator for me after I checked in--generally making you feel safe. The room was nicely appointed with tasetful wall pictures, well-lighted, and new wood-grain desk, closet hutch, and chest of drawers. The TV was a BIG high def. The Burger King was so close, my room window was confused for the Drive Thru (OK, I'm exaggerating here). I grabbed a quick snack before BK closed at midnight, then drove to find my interview spot, then back to Days Inn. If I had wanted to use the Metro instead the next day, the Van Ness station on the Red Line is indeed just 2 blocks away. Yes, the room was small, but there were 2 beds sandwiched into the room. I had plenty of pillows. The bathroom sink was small, but the counter top seemed to be granite; the floor and walls seemed to be ceramic; the shower curtain was clean with the rod in that new modern curved shape. Perhaps I should take off half a star because the bathtub plug was a rubber stopper and there was a little rust at the drain ring, but so what! Parking was cramped so be careful not to hit a pole or car, and cost $* instead of $* as advertised. My room did not have a fridge or microwave--coffee pot, yes. $*--WOW!

Not bad for the price, room was very comfortable, just that the toilett wasn't working properly. Front desk was not friendly , but answers all your questions. Please bring your pillows as they don't provide big pillows but several small ones. Good location and accesible to metro, with many restaurants around.

This hotel is well-appointed for the price. The rooms are clean, sufficiently stylish, and quiet. The staff is quite helpful. I watched them answer the same annoying questions over and over again with a smile. Most important, with the Metro one and half blocks away, it is easy to get to all the major sites in Washington in 15-20 minutes. On the downside, the plumbing can be a bit leaky and the Internet, while free, can be less than fully reliable. They do have free computers and printers in their limited lobby for the quick email fix. There is no restaurant, but there are plenty of adequate to above average eateries just outside the door. There is also a very efficient and inexpensive cleaners just next door. If non-pretentious and "good enough" is what you are after, the Days Inn Connecticut Avenue is an EXCELLENT choice.
