  This is a recent acquisition by the Wyndham chain. The hotel is vintage with early 20th Century ambiance; marble bathroom with towel warmer, built-in drawer space, etc. that is not found in most hotels. The restaurant, George's, has delicious food at reasonable prices, particularly on their specialtiy night. The location is next to magnificent turn-of the century mansions that are very individual in their architecture. The staff was friendly and helpful making the stay very enjoyable even though the reason for the visit was stressful.

  Spent a weekend in the city, and very disappointed in this hotel. Pro: good pillow, decent bar, hot water, good A/C, and very quiet at night. Cons: Rip off ""car tax"" of $5, rip off ""safe charge"" of $1, very expensive parking fee $29. ordered & confirmed two queen beds, got two double beds, ""only beds available"". beds very uncomfortable, wife and I and another couple we were with had terrible night's sleep due to bad beds, AND, both of us had bottom sheets come loose during the night, which is very annoying and makes it very difficult to sleep. the room was tiny, my wife had no place to hang up a full length dress, only a 1/2 closet. very uninformed and less than helpful staff. DO NOT recommend this place!!!

  Nice well maintained hotel with a european flair. Towel warmer and jetted tub. Good security with room card needed to operate elevator. Good restaurant on premises. I don't think the negative reviews are justified. I plan to return in about 3 weeks. Parking could be more reasonable.

  This had to be worst experiance in my life. We were promised queen size bed, but we only received 2 double beds and when we complained about it they told us tough luck that all we have available. Service is terrible, staff is rude and their accountant was not willing to relase pending charge on my credit card even though we ended up never staying there. Were bad hotel to stay in.

  The room was 90 degres and took 2 hourd to cool down. the coffee cups were used. the windows were painted closed. it was not a 5 star hotel.
